Cross Roads Project Final Report: Handbook of Residential Care Facilities and Other Useful Information in the Eastern Sydney Region A transitional care project supporting veterans who were moving into residential care facilities. The project was funded by the Department of Veterans' Affairs and auspiced by the South East Neighbourhood Centre in 2007 and has been completed. Eastlakes and Daceyville Community Capacity Building Project Report The aim of this report was to identify the capacity of the community to support families with children 0-8 years in the Eastlakes and Daceyville areas. Media Manual A media training manual for use by Neighbourhood Centres and other community organisations. This manual is divided into two main sections - the first covers the nature of the media so as to promote a better understanding of the different sections of the media. The second section concentrates on using this understanding to build better relationships and utilise the power of the media to achieve the goals of the organisation’s particular media campaign. Theoretical and Conceptual Studies on the Value, Role and Impact of Neighbourhood Centres This document aims to provide Neighbourhood Centres with tools and resources regarding campaigns. It contains a list of current literature, forum papers and articles relating to the important role played by Neighbourhood Centres in supporting local communities, implementing services for disadvantaged groups and building strong and stable communities. This paper gives an abstract and reference for each article. Understanding and Responding – Current Directions in NSW Government Policy and the Implications for Neighbourhood Centres The purpose of this document is to provide Neighbourhood Centres with some insight into the broader policy context that is influencing the direction of public policy relating to community services. It examines the concept of place management and its underlying principles in relation to the practical policy and decision-making processes in New South Wales. It addresses the potential impact on Neighbourhood Centres and discusses the ways their role could be rearticulated in response to the new policy environment. .........
