Volunteers
Volunteers are people who give their time for
free.
As a non-profit organisation the South East Neighbourhood Centre
welcomes volunteers to be involved in many different programs and
projects.
If you enjoy being busy, having fun, meeting new people, learning new skills and gaining work experience while helping others and making a difference in the community then volunteering is the answer. The Centre is happy to talk to anyone who wants to volunteer and will help you find what you are looking for.
The Centre relies on volunteers and there are a number of positions available:
Board of Directors
Bus Assistants
Companions
Toy Doctor
Toy Librarian
Home Visitors
Office Assistants
English Teachers
Group Facilitators
Shopping Assistants

The Maise Foster Award
Ms. Maisie Irene Foster was an outstanding volunteer at the South East
Neighbourhood Centre and through a bequest from her estate an award in
her honour was created. Every year the award is in appreciation of Ms.
Foster’s commitment to the Centre and in respect to the high
esteem in which she was held by the community. Maisie’s passing
was a great loss to our community and she is greatly missed by all
those who knew her.
The Maisie Foster Volunteer Award is dedicated to the recognition and
contribution volunteers make to the South East Neighbourhood Centre and
the community. SENC recognises the valuable voluntary effort of people
and the award is in their honour.
To be eligible for nomination for the Maisie Foster Volunteer Award a
person must be a volunteer with the South East Neighbourhood Centre.
